Overview
Onehub, founded in the United States in 2007, is a simple cloud workspace for sharing files with people outside your organisation. It scores 7.7 overall in our table. Its value score of 8.5 is one of the higher marks in our line-up, and its ease of use is strong; security, deal tools and support sit lower, which is what pulls the overall figure down.
The appeal is obvious from the price. At $15/mo, approx. £11 at our rate, it has the lowest flat monthly entry price of any provider we track. For a small business owner who needs somewhere better than an email attachment, that is a low barrier.
Who it is built for
Think of the transactions that never reach a corporate finance adviser: a hairdresser selling the business to a long-standing employee, a landlord sharing title documents and tenancy agreements with a single buyer’s solicitor, a two-person consultancy bringing in an investor, or a family company exchanging records with its bank for a facility renewal. In each case the other side is known, the document set is small and the main need is a clear folder structure with a record of who opened what.
Onehub covers that ground. Our data lists dynamic watermarks, a full audit trail, two-factor login, a mobile app, an API and bulk upload. Together these give an owner a basic level of control and a record to point to if a question is ever raised about what was disclosed.

What it leaves out
The gaps are the features that make a dedicated room worth its fee on a contested deal. There is no structured Q&A, so questions travel by email. There is no redaction, so personal data in staff and customer files has to be removed before upload. There is no document rights control, so once a party downloads a file you cannot pull it back. There is no e-signature, no SSO and no AI tools in our data.
For a selling a business process with several interested buyers, those gaps add up. Each bidder may download the full set, and if they walk away there is no technical way to withdraw what they hold. In that setting, a non-disclosure agreement does more of the work, and you should stage what goes into the room rather than load everything on day one.
UK GDPR on a small budget
Small businesses are still controllers under UK GDPR, and the duties do not shrink with the deal. Before uploading payroll records or a customer list, ask Onehub for its data processing terms and where files are stored; we do not hold its hosting regions. Onehub holds SOC 2 but not ISO 27001. For most owner-managed sales that will be acceptable, but if the buyer is a larger company with a supplier security policy, check whether ISO 27001 is a requirement before you build the room. Our guide to UK GDPR in a due diligence data room explains what to minimise and when.
Cost in pounds
At approx. £11 a month on our conversion, even a six-month sale costs well under £100 before VAT on the entry plan, which is small next to legal and accountancy fees. Check the storage and user limits on that tier, since a growing document set can push you onto a higher plan. Confirm the current price with Onehub and whether VAT is added. Our data room costs page lets you compare that against per-user and quoted pricing.
Alternatives worth a look
