iDeals price in pounds
iDeals does not publish a price, and we do not guess one. Any pound figure for iDeals below is our market range for an enterprise project quote of that size, so treat it as a yardstick for the quote you receive, not as iDeals's tariff.
iDeals in pounds: six-month reference room against its nearest rivals
VAT on a iDeals invoice
Our data places iDeals's head office in the United Kingdom. If the invoice comes from a UK VAT-registered entity, expect 20% VAT on top of the quoted figure.
A VAT-registered business normally reclaims that VAT as input tax on its return, so the true cost is the ex-VAT column. A company that is not registered, or a partly exempt business, carries some or all of it.
The inc-VAT figures matter most where VAT is not fully recoverable: partly exempt businesses such as many insurers, lenders and residential landlords, charities, and unregistered start-ups. Reverse-charge services also count towards the £90,000 VAT registration threshold for a company that is not yet registered. Your accountant should confirm how this applies to your business.
How the iDeals bill is built
Quote per project or subscription. Expect a quote shaped by the length of the project, the volume of material and the level of service, sometimes framed as a subscription for advisers who open several rooms a year. Because nothing is published, a fair comparison means sending iDeals and at least one rival the same written brief: months, pages, bidder groups and whether you need managed set-up.

iDeals cost calculator in GBP
The calculator opens on the “Mid-market auction” preset, our starting point for iDeals. Switch the UK deal type to load different months and pages, then fine-tune.
Typical market range for a project quote of this size
£4,800 to £20,000Excluding VAT. iDeals prices by quote; this range is not a iDeals price.
Range from our deal-type budget model: the greater of £4,000 or 12p a page, up to the greater of £12,000 or 50p a page. Indicative only; confirm with the provider.
iDeals cost scenarios: 3, 6 and 12 months
Quote-only pricing does not scale neatly by month, so each row shows our market range for a project of that size, with the page count we assumed. None of these is a iDeals price.
| Users | Pages assumed | Market range, ex VAT | With VAT at 20% |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5 | 5,000 | £4,000 to £12,000 | £4,800 to £14,400 |
| 25 | 30,000 | £4,000 to £15,000 | £4,800 to £18,000 |
| 100 | 80,000 | £9,600 to £40,000 | £11,520 to £48,000 |
iDeals against its three nearest rivals
Datasite, Ansarada and Ellty sit closest to iDeals on our overall score. Each is costed for the same reference room: 6 months, 5 users, 10,000 pages, before VAT.
| Provider | Score | Price basis | Reference room | Trial |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 9.2 | Quote | Quote; market range £4,000 to £12,000 | Yes | |
| 9.0 | Quote | Quote; market range £4,000 to £12,000 | Not listed | |
| 8.9 | Quote | Quote; market range £4,000 to £12,000 | Yes | |
| 9.5 | $149/mo | £671 | Yes |
Of these, Ellty publishes a price that comes to £671 for the reference room, a useful floor when a iDeals quote arrives.
UK contract questions before you sign
- Notice period and minimum term. Quotes often fix a minimum number of months. Ask how much notice ends the term early and whether unused months are credited if the deal completes ahead of plan.
- Automatic renewal. Check whether the order form rolls over by itself. Business contracts carry no statutory cooling-off period, so a renewal clause binds as written; diarise the cancellation deadline against your expected completion date.
- Archive at completion. Ask what an encrypted copy of the room costs (a download or a USB set for the completion bible), what format it comes in and how long read-only access lasts after the room closes.
- Deletion under UK GDPR. As your processor, iDeals should delete or return personal data when the service ends, unless law requires it to keep a copy (UK GDPR Article 28(3)(g)). Ask for the deletion timetable, how backups are purged and written confirmation once it is done.
- Governing law and invoice currency. See whether the terms follow the law of England and Wales or a foreign system, and ask to be invoiced in pounds if possible, so a weak pound does not inflate the bill mid-deal.
iDeals free trial
Our data shows iDeals offers a free trial. Use it with a slice of your real index rather than a demo folder, and invite one outside adviser, so the quote you receive afterwards reflects how your team actually works.
iDeals UK cost questions
How much will iDeals cost me in pounds?
iDeals sets prices by quote. For a six-month room of about 10,000 pages, the market range in our model is £4,000 to £12,000 before VAT; that is not a iDeals price, so ask iDeals for a written sterling figure.
Will VAT be added to a iDeals invoice?
If a UK VAT-registered entity bills you, yes, at 20%. Registered businesses usually reclaim it; confirm the billing entity on the order form.
Can I ask iDeals for a price in pounds?
Ask for exactly that. A sterling quote removes exchange-rate drift from your budget, and with a UK head office in our data it is a reasonable request. Get the extension rate in the same document.
Is an iDeals quote per room or per year?
It depends on what you negotiate. One-off sellers usually want a single project price; advisers running several mandates may prefer an annual subscription. State which you want in the brief so the quotes you compare are like for like.
Can I try iDeals before I pay?
Our data lists a free trial for iDeals. Ask how long it runs and whether trial content carries over to a paid room.
