DocSend price in pounds
DocSend lists $45/user/mo as its entry price, which is about £34 per seat a month at our indicative rate of $1 = £0.75. The invoice is likely to be in dollars, so the sterling cost moves with the pound: a 5% swing in the exchange rate changes the entry figure by roughly £2 per seat a month.

VAT on a DocSend invoice
DocSend lists its head office in the United States. When a supplier based outside the UK invoices a UK business, the business usually accounts for VAT itself under the reverse charge: no VAT on the invoice, but output and input entries on your own return.
If DocSend bills you through a UK subsidiary instead, 20% is added to the invoice in the ordinary way. Ask which entity will invoice before you sign.
The inc-VAT figures matter most where VAT is not fully recoverable: partly exempt businesses such as many insurers, lenders and residential landlords, charities, and unregistered start-ups. Reverse-charge services also count towards the £90,000 VAT registration threshold for a company that is not yet registered. Your accountant should confirm how this applies to your business.
How the DocSend bill is built
Per seat, every month. Pricing per seat means a solo founder pays little and a team pays more. Our data shows no Q&A, no bulk upload, no two-factor login and no document rights control, so a funded round will usually move to a proper room once diligence begins.

UK contract questions before you sign
- Notice period and minimum term. On a monthly plan, ask how many days' notice stops the next charge and whether cancelling part-way through a month earns any refund.
- Automatic renewal. Check whether the order form rolls over by itself. Business contracts carry no statutory cooling-off period, so a renewal clause binds as written; diarise the cancellation deadline against your expected completion date.
- Archive at completion. Ask what an encrypted copy of the room costs (a download or a USB set for the completion bible), what format it comes in and how long read-only access lasts after the room closes.
- Deletion under UK GDPR. As your processor, DocSend should delete or return personal data when the service ends, unless law requires it to keep a copy (UK GDPR Article 28(3)(g)). Ask for the deletion timetable, how backups are purged and written confirmation once it is done.
- Governing law and invoice currency. See whether the terms follow the law of England and Wales or a foreign system, and ask to be invoiced in pounds if possible, so a weak pound does not inflate the bill mid-deal.

DocSend UK cost questions
How much will DocSend cost me in pounds?
The published entry plan of $45/user/mo works out at about £34 per seat a month. Six months with 5 seats comes to about £1,013 before VAT, or £1,215 with VAT at 20%.
Will VAT be added to a DocSend invoice?
With a head office in the United States, an invoice from outside the UK normally carries no VAT and a UK business accounts for it under the reverse charge. A UK subsidiary invoice would include 20%. Ask which applies.
Can DocSend replace a data room for a UK seed round?
For sharing a deck and a few documents, it can. For legal diligence with many files and questions, the gaps in our data make a dedicated room the safer choice.
Does every person on my team need a DocSend seat?
Our scenario table assumes each team user pays. Ask DocSend which roles need a paid seat on your plan before you commit.
Can I try DocSend before I pay?
Our data lists a free trial for DocSend. Ask how long it runs and whether trial content carries over to a paid room.
