SecureDocs price in pounds

SecureDocs lists $250/mo as its entry price, which is about £188 a month at our indicative rate of $1 = £0.75. The invoice is likely to be in dollars, so the sterling cost moves with the pound: a 5% swing in the exchange rate changes the entry figure by roughly £9 a month.

VAT on a SecureDocs invoice

SecureDocs lists its head office in the United States. When a supplier based outside the UK invoices a UK business, the business usually accounts for VAT itself under the reverse charge: no VAT on the invoice, but output and input entries on your own return.

If SecureDocs bills you through a UK subsidiary instead, 20% is added to the invoice in the ordinary way. Ask which entity will invoice before you sign.

The inc-VAT figures matter most where VAT is not fully recoverable: partly exempt businesses such as many insurers, lenders and residential landlords, charities, and unregistered start-ups. Reverse-charge services also count towards the £90,000 VAT registration threshold for a company that is not yet registered. Your accountant should confirm how this applies to your business.

How the SecureDocs bill is built

Flat fee, every month. The published fee is flat per month, so the UK cost question is again duration. SecureDocs is often bought for a single sale; agree with your solicitor when the room really needs to open, typically once heads of terms are signed, so months of preparation do not sit on the invoice.

UK contract questions before you sign

  1. Notice period and minimum term. On a monthly plan, ask how many days' notice stops the next charge and whether cancelling part-way through a month earns any refund.
  2. Automatic renewal. Check whether the order form rolls over by itself. Business contracts carry no statutory cooling-off period, so a renewal clause binds as written; diarise the cancellation deadline against your expected completion date.
  3. Archive at completion. Ask what an encrypted copy of the room costs (a download or a USB set for the completion bible), what format it comes in and how long read-only access lasts after the room closes.
  4. Deletion under UK GDPR. As your processor, SecureDocs should delete or return personal data when the service ends, unless law requires it to keep a copy (UK GDPR Article 28(3)(g)). Ask for the deletion timetable, how backups are purged and written confirmation once it is done.
  5. Governing law and invoice currency. See whether the terms follow the law of England and Wales or a foreign system, and ask to be invoiced in pounds if possible, so a weak pound does not inflate the bill mid-deal.

SecureDocs UK cost questions

How much will SecureDocs cost me in pounds?

The published entry plan of $250/mo works out at about £188 a month. Six months comes to about £1,125 before VAT, or £1,350 with VAT at 20%.

Will VAT be added to a SecureDocs invoice?

With a head office in the United States, an invoice from outside the UK normally carries no VAT and a UK business accounts for it under the reverse charge. A UK subsidiary invoice would include 20%. Ask which applies.

Can SecureDocs replace a separate e-signature tool on a UK deal?

E-signature is listed in our data. Whether it suits your completion mechanics depends on your solicitors, since some documents (deeds, for example) have execution formalities. Check before cancelling another subscription.

Does SecureDocs hold ISO 27001?

Our data lists SOC 2 but not ISO 27001. If a buyer questionnaire insists on ISO 27001 by name, raise it early, because a late provider switch is the most expensive outcome of all.

Can I try SecureDocs before I pay?

Our data lists a free trial for SecureDocs. Ask how long it runs and whether trial content carries over to a paid room.
